Year 12 Dance
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs D. Pole.
Dance is a very popular subject at Wesley College thanks to a strong history with the Secondary Schools Polyfest. In Dance we continue to explore movement that is created with intent, purpose and form. Dance elements, vocabularies, processes and technologies are used to express personal, group and cultural identities. Students develop literacy in dance as they learn about and develop skills in performing and choreography. Reading and writing are only required with two of out of five assessments. Students who enjoy performance and who are willing to take risks within a safe and supportive space will enjoy this subject.
Pasifika Dance forms part of level 2 Dance at Wesley College.
View live performances. In 2018 and 2019 Dance students travelled to see Black Grace performances.
Wesley Dance students competing at Stand Up Stand Out 2019.
Guest Dance tutor Nela Tu'iha'angana working with level 2 and 3 students in contemporary Hip Hop.
